About Us

We are here to address any concerns, suggestions for improvements and communicate any local village activities and businesses.

The Parish Council prepares an annual budget and raises money (shown as part of the council tax) which it uses towards the upkeep of the village. The Council is responsible for the village, bus shelters and grass cutting. We work with Selby District Council and North Yorkshire County Council on matters such as roads, footpaths, planning applications, litter bins and street cleaning.

We currently have seven council members;

Susan Walsh      Chair

Carole Martin    Clerk

James Neale     Vice-Chair

Eileen Neale      Councillor

Barbara J Hay   Councillor

Kevin Wild         Councillor

Ann Spetch       District Councillor

Pat Braithwaite  Councillor

In the recent District Council Election on 5 May 2011 Mrs Ann Spetch (Cons) and Mr Rod Price (Lab) were elected to serve as Councillors for the Ward.

Mrs Ann Spetch was re-elected to her seat.
